Springtime always brings out a deep sense of gratitude in me. I’m not sure I can really explain it with words. But of course, since I’m a self-proclaimed writer sitting here on a mostly empty blog post, I’m trying anyway.
My spirit feels so much lighter when the sun comes out and the snow melts and the daffodils and hyacinths grace the flower beds. It’s like my soul goes, “Oh…there you are, spring! I was worried you weren’t coming!” And my body breathes a sigh of relief.
This has been a particularly rough winter for me, and now that it’s over, I can’t help putting my thankfulness to words this week. Today’s Weekly Brew is short, but sweet. I hope you enjoy my little hymn of praise thanking God for spring.
As a little thank you for your readership, I’m offering this poem in PDF printable form. It’s located at the bottom of this page. So for those of you who have been asking for more PDF printable verses and poetry, here you go! 🙂
God of all things green and verdant,
King of sweetly scented bloom,
Lord of newness, spring eternal,
of bright peacocks’ feathered plumes,
Hear our laud this blustery morning.
Hear this quiet poem of praise.
Jesus, Goodness Sempiternal,
To you our hearts and hymns we raise.
