With the ongoing pandemic + living rurally, safely getting our library books has been a real challenge this year! I was thrilled to find that a library near us recently reopened their children’s area by appointment only. Our family booked a time fast and our kids were so jazzed to scoop up their favorite reads. Here’s what we’re reading!

Littles (Tots/PreK):
*Tractors (Zippy Wheels) by Small World Creations
Snoozers: 7 Short Bedtime Stories for Lively Little Kids by Sandra Boynton
Dig In! by April Jones
The Caboose Who Got Loose by Bill Peet
Mama Loves You So by Terry Pierce
The Goodnight Train by June Sobel
*Cerca, Close by Juan Felipe Herrera
ABC Dinosaurs by the American Museum’s Natural History
Can you tell one of my kids is obsessed with any vehicle that goes? The library we were at had an entire section devoted to trains and he was in heaven.
Lower Elementary:
Nancy Clancy: Book 5, Star of Stage and Screen by Jane O’Connor
Nancy Clancy: Book 6, Soccer Mania by Jane O’Connor
*Unicorn Princesses: Book 1, Sunbeam’s Shine by Emily Bliss
The Unicorn Princess series is new to us, but we are loving it so far. Nancy Clancy has been an all-time fave for over a year now.
Everyone Reads:
*Batholemew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss
Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss
*Thomas the Tank Engine: Story Collection by The Reverend W. Awdry
Would You, Could You Save the Sea? with Dr. Seuss’s Lorax by Todd Tarpley
We completed a week-long unit on a few of our favorite Dr. Seuss books (the ones mentioned here, The Lorax, Go, Dog, Go!, and Fox in Socks).
Mama: Mine isn’t pictured this time, but I’m finishing up Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte — a classic I have been meaning to read for ages. I’m totally enjoying it, by the way! Another recent read I liked was Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. (Possible book review coming soon! 🙂 )
Also, not directly related, but how beautiful is this photo of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice alongside bright, happy daisies? Heart. Eyes.

Love this! And I love the daisy picture! Thank you, Lisa!
