Pre-K/Kindergarten Dinosaur Unit Study Resources

Do you have any little dinosaur lovers in your house?

Ours is Bundle, our 4-year-old daughter. Every summer I ask her what she’d like to learn about during school, and for the past two years, dinosaurs have made the list. I’ve decided to dedicate 10 posts just to learning about dinosaurs geared toward the Preschool and Kindergarten age group.

If you’ve been following along with this crazy long post series (I’ve never done 10 posts on one unit study before), I just want to say THANK YOU! It’s wonderful to know that no matter how small the readership is here, these posts might reach someone and help a few families along the way to accomplish their homeschooling, teaching or learning goals together.

After these last two years of researching, creating and teaching and learning about dinosaurs right along with my daughter, I thought I’d write a ten-post series on this blog to combine those activities, ideas, and resources. The result was this Pre-K/Kindergarten Dinosaur Unit Study!

These unit study ideas range from books, to arts and crafts, to hands on/sensory activities, to active play ideas. Lots of these cover a huge variety of learning goals! Need a quick science activity that also covers art? Check. Math game that solidifies vocabulary? Got it. 🙂

Almost all of these ideas are original, or were found through my own research, but I also discovered some resources that were too good to pass up. I’ve listed and credited those sources under their respective activities. All free printables from A Fresh Brewed Faith are linked through text and underneath each photo in PDF form.

So without much else, here are all my original Pre-K/K dinosaur resources!

Matching Dino Memory Cards {freebie!}

Dinosaur Dress-Up Activities

Dinosaur “Stomp” Activity & Extensions

Dinosaur Texture Play

Dinosaur Fossil Dig Activity & Extensions

Dinosaur Pre-writing Pages {freebie!}

Dinosaur Scissor Skill Pages {freebie!}

Dinosaur Book Resources

Dinosaur Field Trip Ideas

Hopefully these resources, freebies and activity ideas can help someone out there with their play time and learning plans. I’m happy and excited to have finally finished this ten-post series on something I’m passionate about, and that my kid is passionate about, too!

If you’re looking for more fun kids activities, check out my homeschooling tab at the top of the page!

Lots of love to all you dinosaur lovers and blog readers!
