Weekly Brew: Weary

At the end of some weekends, we feel rested, rejuvenated, ready to get Monday started. At the end of others, we feel weary, stressed, and uncertain of whether or not we can make it through another week so soon.

This was one of those weary weekends.

Though nothing cataclysmically bad happened, I let the to-dos trump the tranquility and before I knew it, the weekend had flown by.

As I was browsing Pinterest after dinner for some writing inspiration, I stumbled across this prayer.

If you’re interested, here’s the source this lovely prayer came from.

I’m resting this week on this prayer, and hoping that by sharing it, others who might need it can rest on it too.

Isaiah 40:30-31

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.
