Five Minute Spiced Apple Cider for Two

My thermometer reads 61.2 degrees Fahrenheit…

Ahh…cuddling weather!

If you’re looking for the perfect warm, non-caffeinated drink to sip beside your sweetheart or with your kids (or hey, in your precious alone time!) this sweet-but-tangy cider is calling your name.

I’m a lazy cook, as I’ve mentioned before, and this spiced cider is no exception. It has a grand total of 4 ingredients, and takes just under five minutes to make! I figure the less time it takes to make, the more time there is to cuddle and sip!

Ingredients:

2 cups apple juice
1 heaping teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. apple pie spice*

Pour the apple juice into a large saucepan. Bring juice to just a boil on high heat. Immediately remove from heat and add the sugar and spice. Whisk until all the sugar is dissolved and the spices are well-infused. When it begins to smell amazing, and turns a reddish copper color. 🙂  Simply ladle the hot liquid into the cutest mugs you have and voila! Perfect cuddle-weather-worthy apple cider.

*If you don’t have apple pie spice, no fear! It’s just equal parts cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice!

How gorgeous do they look?

Want to elevate it? Add some whipped topping and a bit of drizzled caramel!

Drool…

We divvied it up so Bundle could have a bit before bedtime. She got so excited about it that it ended up spilling all over the couch!

If you want to make this for a crowd, stay tuned. I’m going to test this out on some friends at a get together later this week, but I’m going to try it in a crock pot!

For now, sip and enjoy!
